My name is Patrick, and I’m a Mountain Man. I have a percussion lock muzzleloader for hunting, and I do it all myself. I make my own black powder, my own percussion caps, pour my own lead rounds, and make my own patching. From pemmican to hardtack to portable soup, I do my best to preserve our ancestors’ old knowledge to head out west and survive the frontier. Tanning hides, tending to crops, making a clamp to make charcoal, and wildcrafting are just a few of the old ways modern people have lost due to our “civilized” lifestyle. If the worst comes to pass, we need to be able to not just survive but thrive with nothing but a rock and the shirt on our back.
